A GIRL SHOULD BE TWO THINGS. . .

FASHION WEEK IS HERE!!!

And let me just say, Buh-Bye, to the fall seasons' plague of hipster-esque plaids, matchstick jeans, and neon infused high-tops... The indecisive weather and itch of my north face has me fashionably depressed. Im already skewing the pages of my vogue's trying to find my fashion niche in this springs' line-up. Spring '09 RTW comes complete with flowy silhouettes drawn together with waist belts and military style jackets. Having child bearing hips and man-ish shoulders, I CANT WAIT for spring! Louis Vuitton is reminiscent of Chanel's early 1900's introduction of "the suit"; having most models draped in billowy skirts topped with cropped jackets, adorned with shoulder pads as obnoxious as my mom's business suits in the 80's. Nothing screams confidence and empowerment to the women of today as dressing like a man.. But all in all, im uber stoked for the upcoming seasons' attire. They say black is the new white this spring, and unlike the ultra fem florals and pastels of last year, '09 brings a much darker tone to its lines. Lots of dark, bold, solid fabrics; which is great because ive totally drunken my body into a stereotypical college freshman clone. Unfortunately, its sophomore year and the extra pounds have taken permanent residence.. -Back to fashion: silhouettes are avant garde, fits are loose, taken in at the waist to accentuate, or imply, a perfect hourglass fig. Hopefully you have legs for days, because the lengths are extra short, and always remember: Stilettos or Die.
